Miriam Montano's photographic work explores space, memory, and transformation. It engages with liminality, uncertainty, and the imprint of time on built environments. The work at the Biennale, Bilis Negra, explores contemporary unease, drawing from the Greek theory of the four senses of humour and melancholy. Through fragmented images and desolate landscapes, the series evokes a space where identity and memory dissolve, reflecting impermanence and the fragile nature of the present.
Miriam Montano, born in 1999 in Madrid, explores the visual relationship between humans and transitional landscapes, addressing social and ecological tensions. Her work in photography and video has been recognised at Mediterranea 20, Luminic, Scan Tarragona, BAFFEST, Jóvenes Creadores, GetxoPhoto, and PHotoEspaña. With a BA in Conservation and an MA in Photography, she has collaborated with Fundación MAPFRE and Chillida Leku and co-founded El Local, an independent space for contemporary photography in Madrid.

Serija skozi fragmentirane podobe in zapuščene krajine evocira prostor, kjer se identiteta in spomin razpuščata, kar odraža minljivost in krhko naravo sedanjosti.
